MIMI LEGAT

Mimi Nicolaeva – Legat is the grand-daughter of Nicholas Legat, she finishes her professional ballet studies at the Legat School of Russian Ballet, Mark-Cross in the East Sussex, England.
Her professionnal career starts at the Norwegian Ballet in Oslo, and continues with the Hamburg Ballet in Germany before joining the Ballet Royal de Wallonie in 1971.
She will stay in Charleroi until 1982 before moving to the U.S.A.
As a soloist she is noticed in Sextett from Tony Hulbert, Jeu de Cartes from Janine Charrat, the role of Myrtha in Giselle from José Pares, Suite Lyrique from Peter van Dyk, the part of the Oracle in Oedipe Roi from Jorge Lefebre, Majissimo from Jorge Garcia, the part of the Cross in Ecce Homo from Joseph Lazzini, the part of Mercedes in Don Quixote from Ménia Martinez, the Pas de Trois ad the Big Swans in Swan lake from José Pares, Séquences from Juan Giuliano, the head girl in Graduation Ball from David Lichine, the Favorite Slave in Prince Igor from Nicholas Beroizov, Ricercare a Nove Movimenti from Amedeo Amodio etc..
Married to a law Professor, who teaches at the Washington University, she continues dancing with the Washington National Opera and the Baltimore Opera and choreographs for these companies with which she still performs to this day.
